CLaM makes chemists "Happy as a CLaM!"
| Imagine . . . a request for a new formulation comes into your lab. You pull up a list of similar formulas on your computer screen. You select one to use as a basis for the new product, and review it. You insert a resin by choosing from a list of items with specified properties. You request changes to the formula's PVC and VOC holding constant selected raw materials. You compare the resulting formula with other formulas on the basis of sixteen calculations, including cost. You print an MSDS and a chemical analysis. When you are satisfied with your efforts, you print a formula card and a lab batch ticket. You then store the new formula in your work-in-progress file. This process can take you less than fifteen minutes, including time for thought! You never need to consult a printed list, remember or enter a code number, and all can be done with one finger and very few keystrokes! |
